A lot has been said and written about demonetisation...Our politicians are totally divided on partisan lines...If you are a Modi supporter, you are supporting this move and if you are anti-Modi, you are against it...It is that simple...The only political exception is Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who is against Modi but is supporting this move...I feel that his support is based on ulterior motives - He wants to keep the door open with BJP in case his equation with Lalu Prasad Yadav goes in troubled waters...He left BJP to join hands with LPY and it should not come as a surprise to anyone if he leaves LPY to again join hands with BJP...He is a politician and they can do anything.

Even though I have formal training in Economics and Finance and know a little bit about monetary policies, I do not consider myself knowledgeable enough to pass a judgement on demonetisation...The only thing I know that any attack on corruption and threat to national security should be above petty partisan politics...We should look at the macro picture which we call India...I also agree that it might (???) be a very good move but the implementation process was very flawed...Our Government should have done a better job...I don't know what their political compulsions were but it should not have created an atmosphere of chaos and uncertainty...Everyone has an opinion on this issue but it would take some time to understand the real financial ramifications...

I would like to say, on a lighter note, that it was a pleasure to see our former Prime Minister giving a speech in Parliament...Even though I disagree with his rhetoric because when he was the PM, he presided over the largest scams during his tenure (2G, CWG, Coal scam ETC.), it was a pleasure to see Dr MAUNmohan Singh breaking his silence and introducing himself to the country again as Dr Manmohan Singh...

It might be a very wishful thinking on my part but I hope that whatever our politicians do, they have INDIA FIRST, as their primary political agenda...May God Bless India!
