I wish all Indians living around the world a VERY HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY...This day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force on 26 January, 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.

I sometimes feel that there must be something very wrong with our Constitution regarding the rules about candidates fighting elections in India...An analysis of 541 of the 543 winning candidates (2014 elections) by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) shows that 186 (about 34 percent) of the newly elected MPs have confessed in their election affidavits that they have criminal cases against them...In the 2009 Lok Sabha, this number was 158 (about 30 percent) of the elected members of Parliament...THIS MUST STOP...The Parliament is not responsible to give our politicians a good or a bad name...It is the politicians who gives the Parliament a good or a bad name. May God Bless India!
