The Indian public, in a state of daze, is watching the political drama going on in the country. After flirting with the United Progressive Alliance government - led by the de jure Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and controlled by the de facto Prime Minister Mrs. Sonia Gandhi for 48 months, the Left led by the CPM leader Mr. Prakash Karat and the CPI leader Mr. A. B. Bardhan have finally decided to call it quits over their disagreement regarding the Indo-US Nuclear deal.

Samajwadi Party gave a new dimension to electoral politics when it announced the name of Sanjay Dutt from the prestigious Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency '“ a constituency represented by none other than the former Prime Minister and a veteran parliamentarian, and undoubtedly, one of the most admired and honest leaders of contemporary India '“ Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The government of Nitish Kumar has been in power for almost two years. I am sure that he has the best intentions at heart for Bihar and he is doing everything possible to make a "New Bihar". He has to realize that he is running a race against time and the public is looking at him with very cautious optimism.

It is very unfortunate that Mr. Shatrughan Sinha has decided to withdraw his hotel project in Bihar. His reasoning is that he does not want to compromise his integrity and respect.
